Alphonse Lavallée

The Alphonse-Lavallée red wine variety is a new crossing of Kharistvala Kolkhuri and Muscat Hamburg. It was named after Pierre Alphonse Martin Lavallée, the then President of the Société d´Horticulture de France. It is used predominantly as a table grape (but also to make raisins) and grown almost all over the world (Argentina, Australia, Austria, Canada, Germany, France, India, Turkey, South Africa). The skin is quite firm.
